Ishyo Jam – A Fresh Taste of Rwanda

Ishyo Foods is already a household name in Kigali, best known for its yogurt sold across major supermarkets. When the CEO approached Dutch Tembo, the goal was clear: launch a new premium jam line with standout branding — a product that looks just as good on local shelves as it does in a Kigali souvenir shop.

Dutch Tembo was asked to design labels for both the large (440g) and small (220g) glass jars. The visual identity needed to feel clean, professional, and proudly Rwandan. To do this, we drew inspiration from traditional imigongo patterns, used high-quality fruit imagery for flavor recognition, and chose typefaces that balance authenticity with elegance.

To ensure trust and quality perception, the label wraps up onto the lid with a custom “Made in Rwanda” seal — giving buyers confidence the jar hasn’t been opened before purchase. The design process was collaborative, with Ishyo’s CEO actively involved in shaping the final look. The result? A product that’s ready to stand strong in both the Rwandan and international market.
